Never Traveling Alone

Have you ever used Waze? Like other navigation apps, it provides turn-by-turn directions to your destination. But Waze adds something unique: it relies on a community of drivers (known as “Wazers”) who share real-time information about accidents, traffic, and delays on the route.

As you travel, reports from fellow drivers alert you to issues they’ve already encountered on the road ahead. You're also encouraged to report hazards to help those traveling behind you. You can even see little icons of other Wazers along the route.

It reminds me of our faith journey. God's Word provides our direction, showing us the path to take. But He also helps us along the way through others traveling the same road.

Fellow believers share the pitfalls they’ve encountered, help one another through difficult stretches, and keep each other alert. "Two people are better off than one... If one person falls, the other can reach out and help" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). We’re encouraged to help those who are straying get back on the path (Galatians 6:1). Older believers are to teach younger believers (Titus 2:3-5). The mere presence of others on the road encourages us to persevere (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Scripture is our GPS, but praise God that He also surrounds us with fellow travelers who encourage us, warn us, and walk beside us until we reach our glorious destination.
