My daughter and her husband recently bought a home from a friend who owns a construction company. He built the house and lived in it for several years. Whenever they have a question or something needs fixing, they have easy access to someone who knows the home inside and out. Even the original construction crew has returned to make repairs and updates. They understand why things were designed a certain way and can diagnose what’s wrong.
You and I are in a similar position spiritually. We know the Builder. We have access to the One who created us, who sees our hearts, and who knows exactly what needs attention.
All we need to do is remember to call Him.
Can you imagine my daughter asking a random handyman to diagnose a leak or wiring issue—or trying to figure out the problem herself—when the person who built the house is just a phone call away?
And yet, how often do I do the same thing spiritually? I attempt a little spiritual DIY as if I can handle it better than He can. I try to repair what only God can restore.
Praise God I don't have to fix myself. The Builder knows me completely. I can place myself in His hands, trusting the One who knows what needs to be repaired, renovated, or restored—and who knows exactly how to do it.
