If Dogs Could Talk

My dog has been limping for a few weeks.  It's kind of a mystery.  We've taken her for x-rays and tried different medications and supplements.  She seems like her happy, playful self.  But still, she limps.

I think I speak for all pet owners when I say, "I wish I just could communicate with my dog!"  I’d love to ask, "Where does it hurt?" and actually hear an answer.  Sometimes I even think, “If only I could step into her world for a few minutes—experience life the way she does—I'd understand her so much better.”

God did something far greater for us. He sent His Son to step into our world. Jesus took on humanity, experienced life as we do, and opened the way for us to have a personal relationship with God.

Ephesians 3:12 says, "Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence." We don't need an appointment or a special location.  Through Christ, we have constant access to our heavenly Father.

Strangely, we've become so accustomed to this privilege that we hardly think about how extraordinary it is.  Sometimes we barely pause long enough to pray.

Today, don't let this miracle become ordinary.  Take a few quiet moments to talk with your Father.  The most amazing conversation you'll ever have is always just one prayer away.
