Faith that Floats

The story of Noah’s ark has long been one of the most intriguing parts of the Bible — for both believers and unbelievers. 

So much effort has gone into determining whether the account is feasible from a human perspective. Could someone with no naval engineering experience really have built a boat that large and seaworthy, especially without power tools?  Could all those animals really fit into the ark?  How did it all work?

While I admire the amazing research that goes into answering such questions, it seems a key element is often overlooked: God's miraculous intervention.  The incredible story of the ark doesn’t need to be explained by human ability alone. 

We believe God created the universe, parted the Red Sea, healed the blind, and raised Jesus from the dead.  If He’s able to do these things, surely He could preserve the ark and everyone inside until His purposes were accomplished.

Hebrews 11:7 tells us, “It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood.”  That faith rested on God's power, not his own.  Noah didn't have all the answers when he built the ark, but God did.

Today, ask yourself: Are you limiting your faith to what seems humanly achievable — or trusting the God of miracles to do what only He can?
