Connection Over Transaction

Last year, my son was in the market for a used car.  That’s a situation most of us can relate to.  But Jon had a unique advantage: his fiancée works at a Mercedes-Benz dealership!  As you can imagine, she helped him drive off in not just any old car, but a great used Mercedes at an unbelievable price.  Some people have all the luck, right?

Knowing the right person can provide some amazing advantages in life.  A strong connection can open doors we could never open ourselves.  Here’s the best news:  that’s exactly what we have in Jesus.

So many people try to “make a deal” with God.  They think that living a good life and serving others will earn them a place with Him.  Those things matter, but they aren’t the foundation.  Scripture is clear: we don’t gain access to God through what we do.  We come to Him through Christ.

Ephesians 3:12 says, “Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.” 

Jon didn’t need to earn favor with a salesperson.  He already had his connection.  Step into God’s presence today with that same confidence, thanking Jesus and resting in the relationship He has secured for you.
