A Visit to PT
Stand on a foam block. Back flat against the wall, a stability ball tucked behind you. Left leg up, hand on your hip. Bend your knee. Now rise onto your right toes ten times.
Sound ridiculous? Of course. That was one of my physical therapy exercises last week. If you’ve ever done PT, you know they love to set up the most bizarre scenarios. Somehow, those awkward little movements target exactly what needs strengthening.
But the appointment itself doesn't heal anything. It identifies the problem and shows you what to do. The real progress comes later, as you commit to the exercises day after day.
It’s a great picture of how spiritual growth works. We may hear a message or a podcast that reveals an area of weakness in our lives. But hearing truth is only the beginning. Growth happens when we carry it into the week and apply it.
James 1:22 is direct about this: "Don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says."
Like PT, truth isn't meant to be heard once and then set aside. It needs to be practiced repeatedly until weakness becomes strength.
Today, think about one thing God has shown you that's still waiting to be lived out. Real strength doesn’t come from simply recognizing the issue — it comes from acting on it.
