Nobody Noticed
Have you ever unwittingly become the organizer for a group outing? You never really wanted the job — the role just sort of drifted your way.
At first, it's fun: everyone tossing out ideas, the buzz of anticipation, a great night out taking shape.
But then the complications start... Schedules and seating preferences clash. Transportation gets messy. Someone forgets to pay. And somehow, all the communication and responsibility falls to you. By the time everything’s settled, you barely want to go anymore!
Most people had no idea what it took to make that event happen. Someone carried that weight, and nobody else really noticed.
Our pastors, elders, ministry leaders, and faithful volunteers often feel this way as well. They carry responsibilities that few people ever see — preparing, praying, organizing details, resolving problems, and helping hold things together behind the scenes, week after week. It can be exhausting and discouraging.
Galatians 6:2 says, “Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”
If you’ve been carrying a lot of unseen responsibility lately, take heart. God sees the faithfulness no one else notices (Hebrews 6:10).
And if you’re usually on the receiving end of someone else’s effort, look around. Someone near you may be carrying more than you realize — and you might be exactly the help they need.
