Living the Dream
Think for a moment about what your “dream home” would look like...
I’ll take a wild guess that you’re not picturing the place where you live right now. Your dream home is probably bigger, newer, cleaner, in a more scenic location, and of course, magically maintenance-free.
It’s natural to imagine life being better somewhere else: another city, a different job, a new relationship, or a place where everything finally works perfectly.
But God’s blessing isn’t tied to our ideal locations. In fact, He may plant us in places that don’t look anything like our dreams. And that unlikely soil can produce fruit we never expected.
Jeremiah 29:7 says, “Work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”
God told His people to invest, build, and seek the good of the community around them — even if it wasn’t where they hoped to be. He was teaching them (and us) that His plans can flourish in our present circumstances, even when they don’t match the dreams we envision.
Today, trust that God has placed you where you are for a reason, and bloom where He has planted you.
