Did it Really Happen?
This week’s Artemis II mission marked the first crewed trip back to the moon in over half a century. It also reignited a long-standing debate: did the Apollo moon landings really happen, or was it all just an elaborate hoax?
Everyone has an opinion. But one of the strongest arguments for the moon landings is surprisingly simple, and it’s found in people. Over 400,000 workers were involved in the Apollo program, including the astronauts themselves. If it were all a hoax, every one of them would have had to keep that secret for over 50 years.
History tells us: secrets on that scale don’t survive. People talk.
All of this got me thinking about another long-standing debate: the resurrection of Jesus.
Did it really happen, or was it just a fabrication? Once again, the strongest evidence is found in people.
The disciples didn’t just go along with the idea that Jesus rose from the dead — they insisted they had seen Him. And for that claim, they were beaten, imprisoned, and killed.
People don’t willingly suffer and die for a cause they know is untrue.
Later, Paul wrote that Jesus appeared to more than 500 people — most of them still alive at the time to confirm it (1 Corinthians 15:6). A claim like that wouldn’t sit quietly if it were untrue.
The resurrection of Jesus doesn’t rest on physical evidence alone. It rests on credible witnesses and changed lives.
And that truth doesn’t just inform us — it transforms us.
