Check the Specs

It happened just a few weeks ago... the release of yet another new iPhone.

As usual, all the tech blogs and websites began comparing the specs. Is it faster?  Is the camera better?  Does the battery last longer?  What did they actually improve?

That got me thinking.  What if someone could pull up the specs on this year’s version of me?  Would they find any improvements over 2025?

Am I more patient than I was a year ago?
Do I trust God more quickly when things go wrong?
Am I more generous, more forgiving, more willing to put someone else first?

Peter ends his second letter with this challenge: “You must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

Apple would never release a new phone that was no better than the previous model. Christians shouldn’t be satisfied to remain unchanged, either. God doesn’t expect us to become completely different people overnight.  But over time, there should be evidence that He is changing us (2 Corinthians 3:18).

What could God begin changing in me today?
