The wall had been built, revival had taken place, and this prayer was in the context of confession and worship.

God’s laws are good, and as we are obedient to them we find freedom and fulfillment. By knowledge and obedience we can be all that God designed and intended for us. Some people think God’s Laws take away their freedom – they want to do their own thing.
They murmured and complained; they were rebellious, and their hearts were hardened. They were proud and forgetful of God’s goodness to them.
God was faithful in spite of their unfaithfulness. He gave His Spirit to instruct them. He led them by a pillar of cloud during the day and by a pillar of fire by night. He gave them manna from heaven and water from a rock – He met all their needs!

Does God lead us through the wilderness today? Recall examples of God’s leading in your life.
The Israelites seemed to idealize their life in Egypt, that it wasn’t so bad after all. Do you ever do this?
